Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has expressed his deep disappointment and insisted it was the worst defeat since he joined the ยูฟ่าเบท club.
The Spurs led Brighton 2-0 in the second half, but the second half turned out to be a different story as the home team scored three goals in a row to come from behind to win 3-2 in a shocking fashion.
“It’s very disappointing, frustrating and saddening to see this happen. The worst defeat since I’ve been here. The second half was unacceptable. It was nowhere near where we should be. We were thinking about how we could be,” Postecoglou said.
“We accept our fate, and it’s hard to understand because we didn’t do that while I was here. It’s a price we have to pay.”
“The problem is that we’re going too smoothly. Football and life can trip you up if you get too far ahead of yourself.”
Message to the players: “There is no message. It’s a terrible loss for us. The worst possible. There is only one way to fix it, and that is my responsibility.”
“We lost all the duels, and if you don’t compete, it doesn’t work. We can’t compete.”
“Most of them will go on international duty. They will handle it individually and I will handle it when everyone comes back.”
